Timber Ridge 6 Person Glamping Tent

Last Modified: 04/17/2025

The Timber Ridge 6 Person Glamping Tent is a very tall bell-shaped structure with octagonal base, nicely ventilated, with many windows, and with an incredible price tag.

Key features & benefits

  • Very strong synthetic fabric.
  • Nicely ventilated.
  • Very tall.
  • 3 Windows.
  • Cable port.

What this is about

This Timber Ridge 6 Person Glamping Tent is a bell-shaped structure supported with one central pole. There is also one A-shaped frame for the door and this is all. So it must be staked properly before you raise it with poles, and it is not freestanding.

It is a very tall tent and you have a peak height of 98 inches (249 cm). So I have included it in my list of very tall family camping tents.

The door and windows

This is a single room structure and you have one very large door. The door is extra wide at the base where you have 67 inches (170 cm) and it is 71 inches (180 cm) high. You have two layers here, a full size zippered mesh and a zippered panel.

Note that the door is partly protected by the roof so this is a dry entry design.

There are three windows on the roof, and they are two-layer type. This includes mesh and panels, and both of them are zippered.

So this is something really great, you can close the panels from inside, no need to exit the tent if it starts raining. Simply unzip the mesh layer and close the panels.

Materials

The poles and stakes: The mentioned poles are made of steel and they are shock-corded, so you can never lose their segments, and there is nothing to guess.

You also get 18 steel stakes that are 1o inches (25 cm) long.

The fabric: The tent looks like a canvas structure, but in fact this is a single-layer polyester. It is very durable 150D with their DrySeal Plus and 2000 mm PU coating.

The bathtub floor is a fully waterproof and thick polyethylene.

One person can set this tent up without problems. But you need lots of space for the tent and for the guylines around.

Other details

  • There are 4 double pre-attached pockets on the walls, plus one removable large organizer.
  • You have a plastic ring with hooks included and you attach it on the main pole.
  • Several metal D-rings are integrated on the pole to attach things like a lantern or anything similar.
  • An E-port is available.
  • A carry bag is included.

Ventilation

The tent has all the elements required for an optimal ventilation. The windows are with mesh, and the same is with its huge door. Note that the external panels on roof windows can be staked out so you can have ventilation through them even in the case of light rain.

However, when all these openings are closed during the rain, you still have 4 large floor vents, and 2 roof vents. The low vents are under the roof skirt and they are partly protected, so you can keep them open most of the time. There is nothing one should object here.

Who is it for

Regarding the area, the tent is officially for 6 people, and for this you have 129 ft² (12 m²). This would mean 21.5 ft² (2 m²) per person, so this is plenty of space.

Regarding seasons & climate, the tent is fully closable, see the picture below, and it is a single layer type. It is also nicely ventilated.

So I am sure it can be used year-round. It comes with thick guylines and its stakes are long, so you can secure it against winds.

Regarding the weight, it is quite heavy with its 33 lb (15 kg). But the area is large and the tent is tall and with durable materials. In any case, this is a car camping tent so the weight is immaterial.

The packed size is given below so you realize it is a bit bulky, but you have a great carry bag and the tent fits inside easily.

Regarding the price, it is simply incredible, the tent is very affordable, but I have seen differences from seller to seller, so check the links given below.

Specifications

  • Weight: 33 lb (15 kg).
  • Official capacity: 6 people.
  • Dimensions: 13.5 x 13.5 ft (411 x 411 cm).
  • Inner area: 129 ft² (12 m²).
  • Inner area per person: 21.5 ft² (2 m²).
  • Peak height: 98 in (249 cm).

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons

In summary, this Timber Ridge 6 Person Glamping Tent is built in the style of bell-shaped canvas tents, but this is a polyester tent. It is with plenty of options for ventilation, and you can use it in any season.

All places with extra tension are reinforced, so the tent is indeed well done. You notice this when you focus on its details. But the price is hard to match, this tent is a true bargain, a great value for the money.

Below you can see how the tent stands against my standard rating criteria that I apply consistently to all of them here in the site, so that you can easily compare:

My first tent was the one I used with my wife when we went on our honeymoon. In fact, you can see it in About page here in the site. Read More…

I see two different options. i) Buy an insulated small cocoon from Crua Outdoors and put inside. ii) Instead of that, you might do some job and install a pipe jack on the roof, and then use a wood burning stove inside.

In principle, both options can be used together.

I do not see it offered anywhere. Most likely it does not exist.

Thanks for this review. I bought this tent several months ago. I haven’t used it yet but am wondering about the seams. Do they need waterproofing? Thank you.

Hi Amelia, I think you do not need anything extra. But it is always good to test any tent in controlled conditions. This because waterproofing may deteriorate in time even with completely unused tents if they stay packed for a very long period of time.
