What is the best time of year to visit Glacier National Park?
It seems that for most people, the best time to visit Glacier National Park is in July and August. This is the peak season, so make reservation in time if you go in these months.
What city is Glacier National Park closest to?
I would say this would be Columbia Falls, so naturally, one of the campgrounds in the list below is with that name.
Which entrance is best for Glacier National Park?
It is the West Glacier, this is the most popular entrance to Glacier National Park. Note also that this is the best access point to Glacier International Airport in Kalispell.
Can you go into Canada from Glacier National Park?
The answer is yes, you can inspect the interactive Glacier National Park map below. There is one border crossing into British Columbia along US 93, Roosville, west of Glacier. The crossing has 24-hour service all year round.
When can you see Northern Lights in Glacier National Park?
In fact, when you are in Glacier National Park, you can observe polar lights at any time of the year. From what I have seen, the best chance you have in late fall, winter, and early spring, and the peak times are from around an hour before midnight to around an hour after.
Can you drive through Glacier National Park?
The answer is yes. Going-to-the-Sun Road is a highlight not to be missed. It spans 50 miles and crosses the Continental Divide at Logan Pass. Sometimes, some portions of the road can be closed.
Do you need bear spray in Glacier National Park?
The answer is yes. So do have bear spray in the park, this area is a home to both grizzly and black bears.
Can you bring a gun into Glacier National Park?

The campgrounds are ordered alphabetically so this is not ranking, but these are the closest camping places you have there:
Columbia Falls RV Park
They describe the Columbia Falls RV Park as your home away from home, and it is located just minutes outside the west entrance of Glacier National Park. This is a premier resort style destination RV stop in the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park area.
Although you see RV in the name, they also provide a limited number of cabins for rent. The location of the place is shown on the map:

Glacier Campground
This Glacier Campground is one of the closest you will find at the west side of Glacier National Park. It includes 40 wooded acres close to the Flathead National Forest. The map below shows its exact position.
You have the village of West Glacier just a mile away with activities like golf, mini golf, shopping, rafting, horseback rides and helicopter tours.
The Campground offer places for RVs, tent sites, and many wood cabins for rent. In the camp you have:

- Restaurant
- Internet Access.

Glacier Meadow RV Park and Campground
This camping ground offers places for RVs and for family camping tents. This is a place for fishing, wildlife viewing, the mountain goats at the famous Goat Lick are only 6 miles away, for photography, and you name it.
A must-see here is an excursion on the Going-to-the-Sun Highway, which is the only road that goes through the entire Glacier National Park, crossing the Continental Divide at Logan Pass.
