The EVER ADVANCED 8 Person Blackout Cabin Tent is a pleasant and very tall affordable two-room family camping tent with many windows and a dark rest design.
Key features & benefits
- Cabin type tent.
- Very tall.
- Two rooms.
- 7 Windows.
- Dark rest design.
- Very good price.
Overview
This EVER ADVANCED 8 Person Blackout Cabin Tent is a very typical cabin type tent with its steep and straight walls. It offers two separate rooms, both with a fully sealed floor and with a complete rain and insect protection.
The floor plan below reveals its general shape and some dimensions. As, you realize, the rear square-shape room is with a very tall ceiling and 84 inches (213 cm) peak height.
Dark rest or blackout design
The inner surface of the fabric is dark and with a coating so that, as they claim, it blocks 90% of daylight. Of course this implies that you keep all the windows fully closed.
Both rooms are the same in this regard, and they offer cozier resting time even in a very bright sunshine. Because of numerous separate windows in the two rooms, you can regulate the amount of light as it suits you. I have included it in my list of dark rest tents.
Windows and doors
There are three large windows in the rear room, and four more in the front room. All of them are double layer type with zippered panels and fixed mesh. This is 7 in total, you have views everywhere around, so there is nothing to object to this design.
However, there is only one external door in the front room, plus an inner door between the two rooms. One extra rear door would be good to have, but it is missing here.
Materials
The poles: There are 6 straight leg poles in total, and this is all steel. The connecting roof poles are fiberglass. I have seen aluminum mentioned on Amazon but this is clearly a wrong information.
The fabric: The tent is made of polyester and it is with the mentioned blackout inner coating. They also claim that it is with SPF50+ rating against UV radiation, and this is the highest level you can normally have in a tent.
However, there is no information about its waterproof rating, just the statement that it is water-resistant.
The bathtub floor is supposed to be PE (polyethylene) and both PU and silnylon are mentioned, so it is hard to understand what they mean by that. It could be that one side is with a PU coating and the other is with a silicone, but then it cannot be a silnylon. It is disappointing to read all this mess.
Other details
- There are three sets of dual wall pockets in the rear room, one is shown below. This is very useful to have to keep small items off the floor and to stay organized.
- A lantern hanging point is on the ceiling.
Ventilation
You have already seen about the mesh on the numerous windows. The tent also has three large mesh areas on the ceiling of the rear room. With all this you can create as much of air cross flow as you want.
But when it rains, all the windows and the external door must be closed. In this situation you need floor vents in combination with the ceiling mesh openings, but there are no floor vents here, pity.
Who is the EVER ADVANCED 8 Person Blackout Cabin Tent for
Regarding the area, the tent is officially for up to 8 people. The two rooms offer 81 + 51 ft² (7.5 + 4.7 m²), and when you see the its dimensions 9 x 9 ft (274 x 274 cm), you realize that you can indeed put five pads on the floor. Additional three pads can easily be placed in the front room.
As usual, backpacking principle is used to determine the capacity of the tent. But, again as usual, it is best to ignore this and downgrade it to up to five people or so. I see it as perfect for parents with two or three kids.
Regarding seasons & climate, they write about 4-season use, and this does not look realistic, in particular having no info about its official waterproofness.
In my view, this is a three-season tent, best suited for a dry and not very windy environment. With such a height and fly and its boxy shape, it would not last long in windy places.
Note that the blackout design makes this tent very useful for families with small kids that have to take a rest during the day.
Also, imagine you are on a summer open-air festival with a group of friends; after a long night activity, in this tent you can sleep even during the day without any glare inside.
Regarding the weight, in view of its 35.2 lb (16 kg) the tent is quite heavy. But you have seen how tall it is, and it has plenty of poles for support, so such a weight is expected. You would not want to carry it anywhere far from the car.
The packed size is such that the tent can be described as quite bulky (the numbers below), the carry bag is very long, bear this in mind.
Regarding the price, it is more than fair for such a nicely designed tent. Please check the link below for updates.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
In summary, the EVER ADVANCED 8 Person Blackout Cabin Tent offers a mix of standout features and notable limitations. Its tall cabin-style design, generous window layout, and dark rest technology make it a practical choice for families seeking comfort and daytime rest options during camping trips.
However, its official capacity of eight is ambitious given the limited floor space, making it more suited for smaller groups.
While the tent boasts a water-resistant design and SPF50+ UV protection, the absence of reliable waterproof ratings and floor vents limits its effectiveness in adverse weather conditions.
Overall, this tent is best suited for three-season camping in mild climates where its functional features can shine. The single external door and lack of floor vents are drawbacks to consider, especially in rainy conditions.
Nevertheless, its competitive pricing and thoughtful features, such as the dual-room configuration and ample ventilation, make it a strong contender for casual campers prioritizing convenience and affordability.
