- Dome type tent.

- Vestibule.
- Vents.

- 5-Year warranty.
What this is about
So this Coleman PEAK1 6-Person Dome Tent is the largest in their new series that includes five dome type tents. The picture below shows it without the fly so you can see its structure. The poles are pre-bent so the sides are steep and this creates lots of volume inside.
Without the fly, the tent is freestanding, but with the fly on you have to stake it on the front because of its vestibule. The tent is moderately high, you have 72 inches (183 cm) peak height.
There is only one door, not the best in view of its size, but the door is large and tall. The fly creates a vestibule so you have space for storage. The top picture shows how you can roll it up and fix to keep out of way.
One interesting detail here is its rear window on the fly, see the picture. This is matched with an inner zippered mesh window so you can unzip everything from inside the tent.
Ventilation
The picture without the fly shows that the canopy is mostly mesh. On the other hand, the fly is a full-coverage type but it does not go completely to the ground, so you have plenty of air flow from below.
This would not be enough without fly vents, so they have added two of them. There is also the mentioned rear window (the picture above) with its two layers and you can unzip both. So there is not much to object to this design.
Materials
The poles: You have three of them and this is a strong 7000-series aluminum. They claim it can withstand winds up to 45 mph.
The fabric: The tent is with their WeatherTec Plus system, and my guess this ‘plus’ is about its increased waterproof rating which is here 2000 mm. All seams are taped, and the floor is a bathtub style so you are safe from splashes. You also have a footprint included.
There are also several pockets in the corners. Please see a bit more in this video:
Who is it for
Regarding the area, you have 83 ft² (7.7 m²) of the floored area and the dimensions are such that it is possible to put 6 pads on the floor. This would give 13.8 ft² (1.28 m²) per person. There is a vestibule to store your gear, but in any case this is far from enough so it is best to downgrade this tent to maximum 4 people.
Regarding seasons & climate, you have already seen its features, there is lots of mesh and the fly protects the tent completely. I see it best suited for up to 2 seasons. You would not feel pleasant in a cold environment.
The tent is aerodynamic, the poles are good and the waterproof rating of its full fly is such that you will surely be protected no matter the weather conditions. See how it looks when the vestibule is closed:
Regarding the weight, the tent can be described as light with its 15 lb 8 oz (7 kg). But I do not think this is so important because this is a car camping tent and you are not supposed to carry it long distances.
The packed size is 27.95 x 9.84 x 9.84 inches (71 x 25 x 25 cm), so it is a bit bulky, but the carry bag is excellent and it is easy to store everything in it.
Regarding the price, on the US market this brand is known for its budget tents, but this is not so with the Coleman-EU where they have some of the largest and very expensive tents. Occasionally, these EU-built tents appear on the US market but they do not last long.
However, from what I see, this Coleman PEAK1 6-Person Dome Tent is launched for the US market, and it is far from a budget tent. The price is steep, but the materials are premium. On the other hand, you have a 5-year warranty with this tent and a footprint is included.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
In summary, Coleman has been making premium tents on the markets outside of the US and this has been so for many years already. But on the US market this has not be so. I wonder if with this Coleman PEAK1 6-Person Dome Tent this will be changed, and if they will keep launching such tents.
This is a quality tent with aluminum poles and a full fly and a footprint included, for a full protection in any environment. I have included it in my list of best Coleman 6 person family camping tents.
Below you can see how this tent stands against my standard rating criteria that I apply consistently to all of them here in the site so that you can easily compare:
