Key features & benefits

- Very tall.

- Full fly upgrade available.
Overview
On the first look, the Crua Outdoors Noir 6 tent is clearly a typical cabin type tent, completely freestanding and self-supporting.
But you may not realize from the pictures that it is very tall, you have a 7.22 ft (220 cm) peak height here, so this is a standing height for practically everybody, with lots of inner volume and comfort. This is why I have included it in my list of very tall tents.
Instant setup design
The frame is pre-attached to the tent, and it includes the roof hub shown in the picture below where four roof poles converge. These poles connect to four leg poles that are telescopic.
The official setup time for this tent is 60 seconds only. I would say this is quite realistic, and one person can easily do the job. Because of this design, I have included it in my list of best instant tents.
But note that the tent has a partial coverage fly, and in view of the height, it is easier if you attach it before you extend the leg poles completely.
Door and windows
There is only one door here, and this is completely enough for a tent of this size and shape. As you realize, the door is very large, and you can roll it to the side.
There are three windows on the remaining three sides, plus one more on the door itself. All of them are with mesh and with zippered panels for protection and privacy.
Blackout design?
The tent is described by the brand as a dark-rest type, and they use a reflective external coating to achieve this. But the truth is that it is not completely dark inside during the day.
One reason is that the fly is partial coverage type and you have lots of light getting inside from its perimeter.
Yet another even more annoying reason is that the bathtub floor material is not of the same blackout type as the walls and the fly. This means that the light gets through it all the way around through those 12-15 cm that are above the ground, which is surprising because in the pictures you see it as a darker fabric in comparison with the rest of the tent.
So when you sleep on the ground, the light gets directly into your eyes. I would say that they failed here, this is not a true blackout tent, but it is fare to say that glare is reduced considerably.
Materials
The frame: All the frame poles are iron, 16 and 20 mm diameter, so this is a very strong structure.
The fabric: The fabric is a 190T polyester with a PU coating that gives it 2000 mm waterproof rating. As mentioned, it is reflective, so this reduces heat inside the tent. The mesh areas are made of a polyester B3.
The bathtub floor is a 210D polyester oxford with a PU coating and 3000 mm waterproof rating. For a family camping tent, I would expect something more substantial on the ground.
The fabric is flame-resistant and with a certification standard CPAI-84. All seams are sealed. These features are summarized in the picture:
Other details
- There are a couple of inner wall pockets to stay organized, I would say far from enough for such massive walls.
- A light hook is available.
- 11 Durable aluminum stakes to stay secure the tent in tough conditions.
- It comes with 2-point reflective guyline system that offers extra wind protection.
Ventilation
The tent has large mesh openings on all four sides, plus the ceiling which is all mesh. But they have added three floor vents for additional vertical air circulation.
Note that these floor vents are closable, you have inner zipper panels. This is useful if you camp in a cooler climate, so you can prevent cold drafts getting to your head.
There is nothing to object here, the tent is properly designed regarding ventilation. Please see a bit more in this video:

Who is the Crua Noir 6 tent for
Regarding the area, the tent is officially for 6 people, and for this it offers 96.1 ft² (8.9 m²) of the floored area. This implies 16 ft² (1.48 m²) per person.
You can surely place 6 pads on the floor, but as usual it is best to downgrade the number of users to 3-4 maximum.
Regarding seasons & climate, the tent is ventilated and pleasant, and without any upgrades, it is perfect for calm weather and for summer camping. Note that it is very tall and boxy so not an optimal choice for windy weather.
But with optional inner Culla upgrade, more below, you have insulation for year-round temperature control and noise reduction.
On the other hand, with a full flysheet upgrade (also more below), you have an enhanced weather protection, and an awning for sitting in the shade.
Regarding the weight, as it is, the tent is on a heavy side, but this is typical for instant tents. Bear in mind its height and overall volume as well.
The packed size is also typical for such a type, so the tent is quite long when packed, but it is very thin, see the numbers below.
Regarding the price, it is a bit steep, but the tent is from a reliable brand, and with great features. Please check the links below for updates.

The fabric is the same as in the partial coverage fly, a polyester 190T, PU 2000 mm, with a certification standard CPAI-84, flame resistant, and PFAS-free.
But the main difference is that it is without the reflective coating that would make it dark rest.
Observe that you have flaps that match the tent windows, so you can have views even with this full coverage fly.
In addition, they have added roof vents, this is very good t have, but I would say they are a bit small.
