Overview
This Naturehike Village 17 Tent is a cabin-type construction but with very unique features. Its floor plan and some dimensions are given below. What you see on the two sides in the right-side picture are separate floored sleeping rooms, and a central foyer.
The central area is floorless, so this is a space for sitting and for all daily activities in the tent, see the picture below. This means you can freely use your camping furniture without warrying about the floor.
As you realize, the tent is very tall, and you have a stand-up height practically everything. Note that, as usual with cabin type tents, this is a single-layer structure, but more about this below.
The windows and doors
Here you can see one of the rooms with its three double-layer windows. Clearly, they are nicely designed with those crossed taffeta stripes. The same is in the opposite room, so you have 6 windows in total.
The mentioned layers mean that you have mesh for ventilation and protection from insects as one layer. But the inner shutters are also in place, so you can zip them up as much as it suits you, for privacy and rain protection.
Each of the rooms has one large D-shaped inner door, they are visible in one of the pictures above. Both of them are again double-layer type, with a full size zippered layer plus a zippered taffeta.
These separate mesh and taffeta doors can be rolled to the side and fix and keep out of way.
Note that you also have two external doors and they are gigantic. Guess what? Here too you have a full size zippered mesh plus a full size zippered panel. The same is on both external doors, so they are double-layer.
I am totally impressed with this. In fact, this is a rare luxury in such family camping tents. Typically you have only a panel, but this is not so here.
Both mesh and panel of these external doors can be rolled up and fix with toggles and loops under the ceiling.
Awning configuration
The mentioned central area is your living space, but the external doors’ panels described above are designed to create awning on any of the two sides. The roof of such an awning is the size of the panel of course, and this means around 3 square meters of extra shade on each side.
For this you have one pair of awning poles included. With this you can considerably extend your living space during the day. This is an extra luxury and bonus with this tent.
Instant setup
The complete tent is one single piece, so you have the frame pre-attached. Only the minimal fly is an extra part. You have 8 telescopic legs poles, and the roof is with several hub elements. These details are shown in the pictures below.
So although this is a large structure, one person can set it up with ease. I have plenty of reasons to include it in my list of best instant setup tents. The pictures below show some steps in the procedure. Because of its 8 legs poles and the frame, the tent is also freestanding.
Integrated light
The tent comes with a pre-attached light bar shown in the picture below. But note that this is more for ambient than for a practical use as a light in the tent.
There is a dedicated pocket under the roof for a switch, see the picture below. Because of all this, it is included in my list of lighted tents.
Materials
All the elements in the package are shown in the picture:
The frame: All the tubes are made of iron. This is reflected in the weight of course. The two awning poles are also iron and they are 180 cm (70.9 inches) long. A full set of stakes and ropes is included.
The fabric: The fly and the walls are a durable 210D polyester Oxford with a silver coating and 2000 mm PU waterproof layer.
They claim that this is a UV-resistant and light-blocking material. This is where the silver coating layer on the reverse side plays a role. This effectively reduces harmful effects of UV-A and UV-B rays on your skin. The fabric features are presented in the picture:
The floor is a 300D polyester Oxford and its rating is 3000 mm; but note that on Amazon they write it is 420D PVC, so this is not completely clear, but in any case this is a durable material.
The roof is all mesh, and it is covered with a partial coverage fly. So a big part of this tent is in fact double-layer, this holds for all the windows, the doors, and the ceiling. Only the remaining parts of the walls are practically a single layer.
Ventilation
You have already seen about its 6 mesh windows and 4 mesh doors, plus the huge mesh ceiling. This is plenty of options for ventilation.
Even when it rains, the inner doors can be kept with mesh only, and you will have air flow from the ground underneath the shell and through those inner doors. The fly is minimal so vapor can escape.
But they have added two large floor vents on the narrow sides of the tent. One of them is visible in the picture below. So all in all, this tent is perfectly ventilated, there is nothing really to object here.

Who is Naturehike Village 17 tent for
Regarding the area, the two rooms offer 4.65 square meters each, so this is 9.3 square meters (100 ft²) of floored area. The tent is officially for four adults.
However, note that their dimensions are 3.1 x 1.5 meters. So one of them can easily accommodate three to four small kids.
The living area offers 7.75 square meters (83.4 ft²). So this tent offers plenty of room for four people, no less than 17 m² (183.4 ft²) of the covered space.
Privacy features: Because of such physically separated vis-a-vis rooms, the tent offers the best possible privacy that you can expect in a tent. They are 250 cm apart. So it is perfect for two couples, or for parents with kids.
Regarding privacy, the mentioned windows panels play the same role, you can position them at any height within the given range to have views around yet to have enough privacy. Many even more expensive tents have just curtains with toggles on such windows.
Regarding seasons & climate, they describe it as a three-season tent and this is true. It is nicely ventilated if you use it in a warm and humid environment. All the doors can be closed if you feel chilly. But the ceiling is all mesh of course, so this is not for a cold climate.
The tent is very tall and boxy, and as usual with such cabin-style tents, it is best to avoid windy places.
Regarding the weight, this is a very heavy tent, it weighs no less than 60 lb (27 kg). It is large though, and also with the instant setup frame. In any case, the carry bag is with wheels as you see from the picture below. Note that it has daisy chains so you can easily fix it on the roof of your vehicle.
The packed size is such that it can be described as bulky. The carry bag is quite long, the numbers are in the specifications below.
Regarding the price, the tent is expensive, but it has so many luxury details that the price is justified. Bear in mind all those double-layer doors (inner and outer), awning poles, integrated light system, zippered windows panels, etc.

In conclusion, the Naturehike Village 17 Tent stands out as a remarkable option for family camping, offering a plethora of luxurious features that set it apart from the competition.
Its unique cabin-type design provides a spacious and well-organized interior, with separate floored sleeping rooms on either side and a central floorless area for various activities.
The tent’s standout features include six windows and two doors, each equipped with double-layered design for optimal ventilation, privacy, and rain protection. The awning configuration adds an extra layer of versatility, providing shade on both sides and expanding the living space significantly.
The instant setup capability, despite its large size, makes it a convenient choice for campers, and the integrated light bar adds a touch of ambient illumination to the interior.
Constructed with durable materials, including a UV-resistant and light-blocking fabric, the tent ensures a comfortable and protected shelter.
Its excellent ventilation system, with multiple mesh windows, doors, and ceiling, enhances airflow even during rainy weather. Privacy is a key focus, with physically separated sleeping rooms and adjustable window panels.
Designed for four adults, or a combination of adults and children, the tent offers ample room, both in the sleeping quarters and the central living area. While categorized as a three-season tent, it excels in warm and humid conditions, with the flexibility to seal off doors in cooler weather. However, its substantial size makes it less suitable for windy locations.
