What this is about
The Zempire Aerospeed 6 Air Tent is a smaller in their mini-series of two, they have yet another 10-person tent built in the same style and with similar features. So the tent is of a dome-type but of a particular kind as you will realize from the text below.
The walls are quite steep and the tent is exceptionally tall for a dome tent, with a 80.7 inches (205 cm) peak height, the picture below. So you have plenty of volume and headroom.
The floor plan shown below reveals its structure, you have a floored room (the dark area in the picture below), and two identical vestibules on the left and on the right.
The mentioned two vestibules are better seen from the side-view, the picture below; as you realize they are not deep but they are the same width as the tent.
Some of the tent’s important features are shown in the picture below, and they are described in detail farther in the text:
Note that they describe it as freestanding, but strictly speaking this is not so because vestibules flaps must be staked to be functional. I would describe it as semi-freestanding.
Doors and windows
As mentioned, the shape of the vestibules is the same, but the openings (the external doors) are very different. The main vestibule is with two side zippers, so the flap can be rolled and fixed under the roof as in the picture below.
But the rear vestibule is with a central zipper, and you can see it in the picture below. On both sides under these vestibules you have one gigantic inner door, but they are slightly different.
The door on the rear side is just a zippered panel, while the main front door is with a window on its upper part, which means you have a mesh and a zippered panel.
On the other two sides you have two separate unique windows, they are with a mesh and with an inner zippered panel for privacy and rain protection.
Below on the left you have the view from inside through one of the windows. As you realize, it is fully protected from the rain, the fly creates a brim above it. This is one of the reasons for the two brim poles that they added on the roof.
The fly is a partial coverage type, this is why you have views on the two sides, and it is pre-attached to the tent.
Inflatable beams
This tent is supported with massive beams, you can see one in the picture below, and this is what they call the SeroLink frame system.
This is a clever design with a double seal boston valve and a single external inflation point. But you have multiple deflation points.
One person can easily set this tent up in just a couple of minutes. Note that there are two extra aluminum poles added to create brims above windows.
Manual pump included: The pump is with an aluminum shaft, and it is compatible with all Zempire air tents. It fits multiple valve styles, and it is equipped with a high pressure single barrel and molded foot pedals.
Dark rest design
The inner tent is made of a very dark material, and the same holds for the ceiling mesh and the air beams. So this is a light diffusing fabric and they describe it as a light rigging system.
But the pre-attached fly above is not dark, and this is in my view the most important part that is supposed to be dark to describe this tent as a true dark rest design. So there are far better dark rest options on the market.
Connecting features
This tent and its bigger 10 person cousin, as well as the Zempire Speedbase 2 Sleeping Pod, come with a zipper that connects them to the Zempire Speedbase 2 Air Shelter.
The picture below shows how this looks when one tent is attached. But you can attach four of them and create a camping village for 24 people, while having a central living and fully covered and protected area under the Speedbase 2 Air Shelter.
So you can start with one tent and the Speedbase gazebo as in the picture, and later order more as it suits you. This is a great option for families and groups.
Storage options
In every corner you have a storage set in three separate levels, one shown below. This is plenty of space to keep your gear off the floor.
In addition, there are also door stove pockets, see the picture below right. This is behind the phrase ‘360° fold away inner doors’ which they mention in the description of the tent. You can unzip them almost completely and keep out of way when not needed.
The rear vestibule can also be used to store gear, and you can keep your shoes and boots under any of the vestibules.
Materials
The support: You have already seen its inflatable air tubes, they are 90 mm in diameter and they are pre-attached to the tent. The two extra aluminum poles you put in place before inflating the beams. They are 11 mm in diameter.
The fabric: The canopy is their Dura-Core solution-dyed 75-denier polyester with a 1200 mm polyurethane coating. The sewn-in and sealed bathtub floor fabric is also the Dura-Core solution-dyed but a 150-denier polyester with a 5000 mm polyurethane coating.
The rainfly is the Dura-Core solution-dyed 75-denier ripstop polyester with a 3000 mm polyurethane coating. They claim its UV rating is UPF 50+.
You will also find a statement that the fabric is torrential rain tested, and it is a low water use material that reduces environmental impact while keeping with Zempire’s renowned strength & longevity. Zippers are anti grit reversed, with glow zip pullers, and with two way zipper heads.
Carry bag material: This is a durable 210D poly oxford material, with parts and utensils pocket, and shoulder sling bag, and draw string closure & tension straps.
Other details
- Adjustable door peg points.
- Steel D ring peg points.
- Guy ropes are 3.5 mm polyester, low stretch, reflective and with safety bright glow.
- Aluminum tri sliders.
- There are 22 aluminum pegs in the package, 180 mm long and 6 mm diameter.
- Cable port is also available, see the picture.
Ventilation
The ceiling of this tent is all mesh, so vapor can escape. Three mesh windows will create enough air cross flow, and you have seen already that windows can be kept with mesh even when it rains.
There are no floor vents, but they are not needed, the side windows are low enough for this purpose.
However, there are no roof vents, pity they did not think about this. You will need them when vestibules have to be closed due to rain. Please see a bit more in this video:
Who is the Zempire Aerospeed 6 Air Tent for
Regarding the area, the tent is officially for 6 people, and it offers 87.2 ft² (8.1 m²), which means 14.56 ft² (1.34 m²) per person. The floor dimensions are such that you can indeed put 6 pads on the floor.
The two vestibules add 17.2 + 17.2 ft² (1.6 + 1.6 m²), so in total this is plenty of space. But as usual, it is best to downgrade this to maximum four people. I see the tent perfect for parents with two kids.
Regarding seasons & climate, they describe it as a 3-season tent and this is indeed so. Both vestibules are closable, the picture below, and the same is with windows, so you and your gear will be protected from the rain. The waterproof rating is very good here.
The tent is very tall but still reasonably aerodynamic to perform good even in windy places. They write that the two metal poles are for additional stabilization. You have plenty of stakes and ropes to secure it properly.
Regarding the weight, the tent is on the heavy side with its 23.8 lb (10.8 kg), but this is a car camping tent and the weight is immaterial.
The packed size is more important and you can see the numbers below. I would describe it as a bit bulky, but the tent is tall and with massive tubes and two vestibules, so this is all expected.
Regarding the price, this brand is not exactly for people on a budget. The tent is expensive, but this is a quality product. Please follow the link below for updates.

Accessory Zempire Aerospeed 6 Footprint HD
For such an expensive tent you might want extra protection to the floor, and you can order the footprint separately. It provides a clean and dry surface on which to pack away your tent and other camping items.
It has corner webbing points for stakes/pegs to keep footprint secure, and it includes lightweight aluminum pegs and a carry bag to pack down small.
The fabric is a 300-denier poly oxford with a 2000 mm polyurethane coating, and the dimensions are 116 x 100 inches. Sized slightly smaller than the tent floor to prevent water pooling during rainy weather. It weighs 2 lb 13 oz.
Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
In summary, the Zempire Aerospeed 6 Air Tent stands out for its tall dome design, dark rest inner room, and inflatable beam support. It offers ample headroom, two vestibules for extra storage, and large mesh windows for ventilation.
While it is marketed as freestanding, the vestibules require staking to be fully functional. Setup is quick with the included manual pump, and the materials used ensure durability and weather protection.
Overall, this tent is well-suited for family camping, particularly for those seeking comfort and ease of use. It performs well across three-season conditions and provides full rain protection with its high-quality materials.
Though a bit bulky when packed, its strong inflatable beams and extra stabilization features make it reliable in various environments.
If ventilation improvements were made, it would be an even better option, but as it stands, the Aerospeed 6 is a solid choice for those prioritizing height, space, and convenience. I have included it in my list of best 6 person family camping tents.
Below you can see how this tent stands against my standard rating criteria that I apply consistently to all of them here in the site so that you can easily compare:
