The CAMPROS Tent 9 Person Camping Tent is an affordable tunnel-type 2-room summer camping tent with fiberglass poles and 4 large windows.
Key features & benefits
- Tunnel-type tent.
- 2 Rooms.
- Lightweight.
- Compact.
- 1 Door & 4 windows.
- E-cable port.
- Great price.
What this is about
Here you have a collapsible tunnel-type tent supported by 4 loop poles, non-freestanding, and with a partial-coverage fly. Note that the manufacturer describes it as a dome tent and this makes no sense at all. They have a series of tents built in the same style, you can see their CAMPROS Tent 12 Person that is also presented here in the site.
All the elements in the package are shown below, together with its carry bag.
As you realize from the numbers, it packs nicely for its overall size. The tent is a 2-room construction with a removable divider shown in the picture below. Note that it divides the space into two asymmetric rooms.
The tent is moderately tall for its overall size, so you have 72 inches (183 cm) peak height. This is for the middle of the tent, so this is a stand-up height unless you are a taller person. It is pleasant with lots of mesh on the ceiling, and with windows on all sides, see how it looks inside:
Note that you have only one door here, it is shown below. For 9 people this is not so great but it is doable.
Other features
- You have an E-cable port shown below.
- A lantern hook is available.
- There are a few small pockets for storage.
Materials
They build the tent in 3 different colors and you can see them in the pictures here in the text. This is a 185T polyester, they write it is 100% waterproof, but the official rating is 1000 mm. This should be perfectly fine if the seams are correctly sealed. From what I know, the fabric has no flame-retardant materials.
The poles are fiberglass, this is not a very durable material, but you cannot expect something better in such a budget tent. This material is used also in much more expensive tents.
As mentioned, the tent must be staked, so they include 18 simple J-style steel stakes in the package. You also have a full set of required guylines included.
Ventilation
The tent has a ceiling that is a huge mesh area, and with the mentioned windows that are also with mesh. So ventilation in normal circumstances should be great.
But when you have to keep the windows closed in periods of rain, you would want to have floor vents. They are missing here.
Who is the CAMPROS Tent 9 Person for
Regarding the capacity, the tent is officially for 9 people. They give the dimensions, shown below, but there is no information about the area. As you realize, the tent is not rectangular.
So my estimate of the area is 133 ft² (12.3 m²). In the case of 9 users, this would mean 14.77 ft² (1.37 m²) per person. The picture below shows what the manufacturer thinks about how the floor can be used with 9 people inside. This may be doable but this is not so realistic for true family camping. It is best to downgrade the number of users to up to 5 or so.
You can easily put two queen size beds on the sides and you will still have plenty of space in the middle. Or you can put 3 beds of that size.
Regarding seasons & climate, I see this tent as best suited for summer camping without much rain and wind, or up to two seasons in the warmer part of the year.
Regarding the weight, the tent is lightweight with its 20.9 lb (9.5 kg). The packed size 25.2 x 9.1 x 9.1 inches (64 x 23 x 23 cm) is also very good so you can transport it even on a bicycle.
Regarding the price, this is a true bargain, so it is not surprising that it so quickly became Amazon’s bestseller in this group.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
To summarize this CAMPROS Tent 9 Person review, if you do not want to spend much and still to get a tent suitable for occasional summer camping, this would be a great option. But it is best to disregard their statements about the capacity and seasons.
