What is in the name
There are several variants of the name of this tent, one is in the title and yet another is Naturehike Cape 12.9 Camping Tent. On Amazon they sell it in the same place with several other tents and it is far from clear how to call it.
In any case, this is a very typical cabin-type tent with steep and straight walls, see the picture, fully freestanding and quite tall with its 6.4 ft (195 cm) peak height.
The tent is formally a two-room shelter with a removable divider shown in the picture below. It is with a central vertical zipper so you can use it when you need privacy or open and fix to the walls as in the picture.
Doors and windows
You have three gigantic doors with flaps that allow for awnings shown in the pictures. The doors are really impressive and most importantly all of them are double layer, so you have separate zippered mesh plus zippered panels, a true luxury in the camp.
Having so much mesh adds value, as you probably know it is cheaper to have taffeta doors, but they have been really generous here, not many tents of this type have such a great feature.
To understand it even better, when you sit under any of three possible awnings, the inner can still be zipped-in with the mesh doors layers so flies and mosquitoes will not gather inside.
And you can also sit inside and have mesh on any side you want, with perfect views and still protected from insects. Clearly, I have plenty of reasons to include it in my list of best tents with three doors.
Note that the awning poles for this should be ordered separately. It is worth it because you then get lots of covered space to sit in the shade.
There are also three large separate double-layer windows for views on all sides and for air circulation.
Instant setup
The tent is described as an instant structure with a 60-seconds setup time. If you are not familiar with this terminology, the meaning is that the frame is permanently attached to the tent.
So you unpack and unfold the tent and then simply extend its 6 telescopic leg poles as indicated in the pictures below. Two people can indeed do this in one minute. There is also its partial coverage fly to be added when needed. Because of that, I have included it to my list of instant tents for camping.
Materials
The picture below shows all the elements in the package, on the left is the tent together with the frame. You can see also the divider, and all other pieces.
The poles: The mentioned pre-attached frame is, according to their statement, made of aluminum, so this is again something great; typically such cabin tents come with a much cheaper steel frame.
The structure is strong with its 6 legs and roof poles, with connecting elbows covered with sleeves to protect the fly, you can see this in the picture below.
The fabric: The fabric is also surprisingly strong, you have a 150D polyester here. All seams are taped, and zippers are good quality SBS zippers.
The waterproof rating is impressive 3000 mm. The floor is a bathtub type with at least 6 inches up the walls.
Other details
Some of them are summarized in the picture below. As you realize, you have a removable pouch set in addition to fixed wall pockets. There is a cable port if you have a chance to use external power in the camp.
Hooks on the ceiling are a small but important detail. They have also added a removable storage set, in addition to fixed wall pockets. You get also a removable screen shown below.
Ventilation
The ceiling of the NatureHike Cape tent is almost all made of mesh, and you have already seen its 6 large openings with mesh on the walls. In view of this, speaking about vents may look ridiculous and redundant.
Indeed, you do not need any roof vent. But when it rains, all the doors and windows must be closed. In extended hours with rain, you would want to have some floor vents, they would make this tent perfect. Pity they missed adding them here.
Who is it for
Regarding the area, the tent is officially for 8 people as indicated in the picture below. The dimensions are such that it is indeed possible to have 8 large sleeping pads on the floor. It is larger that the Quest 8 Person Cavern Tent that is of the same shape and capacity.
Regarding seasons & climate, this tent is simply perfect for warm and dry weather camping.
On the other hand, they give a video showing its rain and wind testing, and in view of this, the tent is surprisingly well-built for a cabin-type, and it can withstand a lot. I would described it as a reliable three-season tent.
Regarding the weight, this is a heavy item that weighs 35.3 lb (16 kg). However, for an instant tent this is normal. Bear in mind also all those double-layer openings and very strong frame, this all adds weight and bulk, so the weight is justified.
The packed size is not the best feature of this tent, and this is mainly about the length. But this is because of its instant setup design.
You can realize this when you compare it with some other instant tents, they all tend to be long when packed. You can see this in the CORE Instant Cabin Tent 10 Person and the NTK Flash 8 Instant Cabin Camping Tent.
Regarding the price, the tent may look expensive but it is with great materials and of a high quality, so it is worth the investment. But if you are on a budget, check for more options among instant tents here in the site.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
In summary, the NatureHike Cape Instant Tent 8 Person offers a robust and versatile camping solution with a fast setup time and a spacious design.
Its three double-layer doors and three separate double-layer windows provide ample ventilation, while the high waterproof rating and strong aluminum frame ensure durability.
This tent is perfect for families or groups looking for a reliable camping experience with the convenience of a cabin-type structure. The large awnings and ample mesh coverage enhance comfort and protection from insects, making it ideal for warm weather and three-season use.
However, the tent’s impressive features come with some trade-offs. Its packed size is quite long, owing to the instant setup mechanism, and its weight of 35.3 lb (16 kg) is heavier than some other camping options.
Additionally, while the tent is generally well-ventilated, the lack of floor vents can be a drawback during extended periods of rain.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the NatureHike Cape Instant Tent 8 Person is a solid investment for those seeking a spacious and easy-to-use camping solution. If you’re in the market for an instant setup tent with plenty of features, this could be a great choice.
