What is in the name
This Zempire Aerospeed 10 Air Tent is unique with its formally dome type shape, but this is almost always so with the tents from this renown New Zealand brand.
The picture below shows some of its features which I am going to describe in detail below. The word Aerospeed in the name describes the fact that the tent is supported with massive air beams. They are designed so that you inflate it from one valve, and this makes its setup very easy and fast.
You have a manual pump included in the package, so one person can easily set this tent up. Plant a few minutes for the job, the beams are thick so inflating takes some time. I have plenty of reason to include this tent in my list of best inflatable tents.
The tent is very tall, you have no less than 88.6 inches (225 cm) of peak height here (the picture below), and in most of the part this is a stand-up height as you realize from the picture above. This is why I have included it in my list of very tall tents.
Note that the tent is formally a two-room shelter, there is a removable divider which you can use to create separate rooms and have a bit of privacy. The picture below shows its floor plan and dimensions. The dark area inside is the floored part.
Vestibules, doors and windows
The picture above shows that there are two external doors on the sides, and they are the part of two vestibules. There is a difference in their zippers design.
On the left, you have two zippers so the door flap can be rolled up and fixed under the roof, this you can see in the picture below.
Note that you can create an awning with the flap, but for that you need some extra poles.
The other door on the opposite side is with one central zipper. The associated rear vestibule is the same size as the front vestibule, but due to its single zipper you use it differently.
This all is on purpose, under the main vestibule you also have two D-shaped inner doors, and this is why it is convenient to have such a wide access from outside.
On the other hand, as mentioned, there is only one inner door on the opposite side, and one central zipper on the external door and vestibule is enough. This vestibule on the rear side can be used as a storage area.
There are two separate and very large double-layer windows on the sides, one is shown below. They are with mesh and with inner panels equipped with zippers, and they are protected by the overhanging fly.
The front doors are with double-layer windows on their upper part, so you have four windows in total. The rear door is without mesh.
They describe the tent as freestanding and this is true for the most of the tent, but you realize from the pictures that the two vestibules must be staked to be functional.
Dark rest design
The tent may not look dark from outside, but the inner is quite dark, so this is a blackout or dark rest tent. With such a material, you can sleep longer in the morning, there is no glare as in usual tents.
This is also convenient for families with small kids that have to sleep during the day. The picture below reveals a bit of that feature.
Though, although the ceiling is a dark mesh, the fly above is not dark, so dark fabric is not in the area where it is the most needed. I find this quite surprising and not great detail here.
Nevertheless, with all other features and with the dark inner as it is, the tent deserves to be in my list if best dark rest tents.
Materials
They use high quality materials here, and they also provide all details that you may need. A very detailed Zempire Aerospeed 10 Air Tent instruction manual is available and you can have a look.
Support elements: I already mentioned the air beams, they are interconnected and this is why you can inflate them from one point. They call it the SeroLink frame system with an angled beam construction and welded cross tube.
In fact, there are several valves, and this is important for deflation because it speeds up the process dramatically. You have a double seal boston valve design and with external inflation points.
The beams are 110 mm in diameter, and they come with a lifetime warranty from Zempire.
They have added also two stabilizing brow poles above the doors. They are shock corded, made of aluminum and with a 13 mm diameter. Because the tent is so tall, you put the poles in place before inflating the beams, so the whole structure raises from the ground.
The pump: It is made with an aluminum shaft and compatible with all Zempire air tents. It fits multiple valve styles, and it is with moulded foot pedals and pressure gauge.
Below you can see how it looks in action. Please check the instruction manual mentioned above for details.
The fabric: The pre-attached fly is their Dura-Core 75D ripstop polyester with a 3000 mm waterproof rating and UV rating UPF 50+. They claim that this is an ultra fade-resistant fabric made by using solution-dye technology, and low water–use construction.
The bath-tub type floor is also the Dura-Core heavy duty 150D poly oxford, ripstop material and torrential rain tested, TPU tape seam sealed and UV treatment. The waterproof rating is 5000 mm.
The canopy material is a Dura-Core solution-dyed 75-denier polyester with 1200 mm polyurethane coating. As mentioned, this is a darkened inner fabric that blocks early morning sun for sleep-ins.
Zippers:
- Anti grit reversed.
- Glow zip pullers.
- No jingle cord pullers.
- Two way zipper heads.
Other details
- There are plenty of inner storage options, in the picture below you can see one of the storage sets in the corners. Note that you have them four, one in each corner.
- An e-cable port is in place, the picture above.
- There is an internal lantern attachment point with power cord access and hook-and-loop cord attachment (lantern not included).
- Adjustable door peg points.
- Steel D ring peg points.
- Reflective guy ropes are 3.5 mm diameter polyester.
- 22 Aluminum pegs are included, 18 cm length and 6 mm diameter.
Ventilation
The tent has a ceiling which is all mesh, and you also have four windows with mesh. This will create lots of side to side and side to ceiling airflow.
Note that the two side windows are angled outwards and they are fully protected under the fly, so you can keep them at leash partly open and with mesh even when it rains outside. These windows are quite low so you do not need extra floor vents.
But there is one detail here that I dislike: there are no roof vents, so vapor cannot so easily escape when you have to keep the vestibules closed in situations with rain.

Who is the Zempire Aerospeed 10 Air Tent for
Regarding the area, from the floor plan and dimensions given above you can calculate that the floor area is around 139 ft² (12.9 m²). This gives inner area per person of 13.9 ft² (1.29 m²).
There are two identical vestibules (white area in the floor plan picture) that together add 51.2 ft² (4.76 m²), so the total covered area is quite impressive 190 ft² (17.66 m²).
The floor plan indicates what they think about using the floor. Clearly, you can squeeze 10 sleeping pads on the floor, but for practical camping this makes no much sense.
The tent is indeed big, with an expansive inner area with vertical walls and it provides plenty of internal space and headroom. So it offers far more than an ordinary dome-type tent.
It is tall and very pleasant, but it is best to downgrade the number of users to half of the official capacity.
Regarding seasons & climate, they describe it as a three-season tent, and this is indeed so. The tent is closable if you find yourself in a cooler environment, and it has plenty of venting options in case of warm and wet environment.
The fly covers most of the tent, and its waterproof rating is excellent so you will be fully protected in the rain. The tent is very tall but still quite aerodynamic so it will work well even in windy places. Note that they have added those aluminum poles for stability.
Regarding the weight, the tent is a bit heavy but this is a two-layer shelter with a durable fabric, and beams are massive. On the other hand, this is a car camping tent, so the weight is not really a big deal in any case.
The packed size is quite good, you will see the numbers below. The picture above illustrates that you can indeed carry it attached on the shoulder.
The carry bag, the picture below, is made of a durable 210D poly oxford material. It has parts and utensils pocket and it is equipped with a shoulder sling.
Regarding the price, the tent is indeed expensive, but this is a high quality shelter with a great brand behind it and with excellent warranty. Please check the link below for updates.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
In summary, the Zempire Aerospeed 10 Air Tent stands out for its ease of use and impressive design features. With its inflatable beams, pre-attached fly, and single-point inflation system, setting up this tent is remarkably straightforward, even for one person.
The tent’s tall interior, with nearly 89 inches of peak height, offers ample stand-up space, making it one of the more comfortable options for car camping or extended outdoor stays.
The dark rest design enhances sleeping conditions by blocking out early morning light, which is ideal for those looking to extend their rest or manage sleep schedules for children.
However, the tent does have its drawbacks. The absence of roof vents could be a significant issue in damp conditions, potentially leading to condensation buildup inside the tent. Additionally, while the quality and features justify its cost for many, the price point is quite high, which might deter budget-conscious campers.
Despite these cons, the Zempire Aerospeed 10 Air Tent’s blend of comfort, ease of setup, and innovative features make it a compelling choice for those seeking a premium camping experience.
