What this is about
This Ascend 10-Person Lighted Instant Cabin Tent is exactly what its name suggests: a typical straight-wall, cabin-style design. The picture below shows it without the fly so you can better understand its structure.

Instant setup
Everything you see in the picture above is one single piece, meaning the tent and the frame are pre-attached. This makes it extremely easy to use: all you have to do is unpack and unfold it, then extend its telescopic poles after pressing the orange button shown in the picture:

One person can easily do all this in just a couple of minutes. This is why I have included this tent in my list of best instant setup tents.
Note that there is a separate fly that must be added. If you do this alone, it is best to attach it before fully extending the poles, as the tent is quite tall and large.
The tent comes with instructions sewn onto the inside of the bag, so you always have them at hand.
Windows and doors
The tent has four separate windows, which you can see in the picture below. They are double-layer windows, with fixed mesh and zippered panels for rain protection and privacy.

But there are also two large doors. One of them has a central inverted T-shaped zipper, and both doors include an additional three windows. This makes it 7 windows in total.
Note that one of the doors has a small brim supported by an additional short pole:

Two rooms
This tent is technically a two-room design thanks to its removable divider, which you can see through the door in the picture above. When not in use, the divider can be secured to the sides.
Note also that the ceiling height in both rooms is generous. With 78 inches (198 cm), it offers stand-up height for most users.

Lighted tent
The tent comes with a built-in LED lighting system with 3 settings, providing even, glare-free light inside the tent. It is powered by 4 D batteries (not included), stored in the battery pack with a USB-A port shown in the picture:

This is kept in a mesh pocket, from where the connection runs to the ceiling light. Both elements are shown below. The light has 3 brightness settings. Because of this feature, I have included it in my list of best lighted tents.
Other features
It comes with a cable port, which is useful at official campgrounds where external power is available.

There are also a few small wall pockets to keep small items off the floor. However, tents of this size rarely have enough storage pouches, which is hard to understand given the massive straight walls.
Materials
The poles: The pre-attached frame is strong steel, with 6 leg poles and matching roof poles connected through elbow elements and two roof hubs:
There is also a central hub element at the top; see the picture below:

One short fiberglass pole is included in the package, and it is used for the brim above one of the doors.
The fabric: The fabric is 68-denier 190T polyester, which is typical for good-quality tents in this category. The fly uses the same material, and its waterproof rating is a moderate 1200 mm, which is still completely sufficient for normal camping use.
The floor is a much more durable and fully waterproof polyethylene, and the ceiling and window mesh is also a 68D polyester mesh.
Ventilation
With 7 large openings covered with mesh and a huge mesh ceiling, this tent offers excellent airflow when the weather is clear.
During rainy periods, most openings must be closed except for the ceiling, and then you have to rely on the floor vent shown below. It is located in the back room. The tent would be better with an additional vent in the front area, so it is a pity they did not include one.

That rear vent can be zippered shut or adjusted depending on the weather, which is helpful for retaining heat on cooler nights. Campers generally appreciate this feature, especially in a tent this large.
The vent, combined with the mesh roof, allows air to move freely even when the rainfly is on, because the frame keeps the fly a few inches away from the mesh.

Who is it for
Regarding the area, they claim it is a 10-person tent, but when you look at the floor dimensions, you realize it may be difficult to fit that many sleeping pads inside.
The floored area is 140 ft² (13 m²), meaning you would have only 14 ft² (1.3 m²) per person, which is far from optimal. So realistically, downgrade it to five people maximum, especially since you need space for gear as well.
Regarding seasons & climate, they describe it as a three-season tent, but it is best to ignore this claim. What you really have here is a shelter for summer camping, or at most two-season use.
Users generally recommend this tent for fair-weather family camping, where quick setup and comfort are the priorities. However, if you expect heavy rain or high winds, many experienced campers suggest bringing an extra tarp or applying additional waterproofing treatments to ensure it stays dry.
Rain protection is not optimal with such a small fly, and if you need something for wet-weather camping, check tents with a full fly such as the Core 12 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Full Rainfly.
Regarding the weight, because it is an instant tent with a pre-attached frame, it can definitely be described as heavy. But it is still lighter than the CORE 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Full Rainfly, which is smaller. The weight is not a major issue since this is clearly a car camping tent.
The packed size is more important, and it is large enough that it can be described as bulky. See the numbers below. Here it is packed in the carry bag equipped with carry handles and a top zipper:

Note that the bag is expandable. There is a zipper on the bottom to make getting it back into the bag even easier. This gives you a little extra wiggle room to fit the tent back in after your trip.

Regarding the price, this tent is a true bargain. Check the links below for updates.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
Overall, the Ascend 10-Person Lighted Instant Cabin Tent is a great option for campers who want a roomy cabin-style shelter with a fast setup and the convenience of built-in lighting.
The straight walls, tall ceiling, and room divider make it especially appealing for families who want comfort, privacy, and enough headroom to move around easily.
That said, it is best viewed as a fair-weather tent rather than a true three-season shelter. If your camping plans include frequent rain or windy conditions, you may want a model with a fuller rainfly and stronger storm protection.
For summer trips, weekend family outings, and casual campground use, however, this tent delivers excellent value for the price.
