What this is about
The Naturehike brand has several tents with the name Village in the name. Yet another of them is presented here in the site, the Village 17, but if you follow the link you will realize it is quite different.
This Village 13 Instant Tent is a cabin type and it could be described as freestanding. But you realize also from the name that this is an instant setup tent.
This means that the frame is pre-attached to the tent, and this makes the setup of this shelter very easy. You simply unfold the tent and extend its telescopic poles as you realize from the pictures:
They describe it as a 60-seconds setup tent; this may be so for the inner tent, but there is the fly which you have to add, so there is no way you can do this so quickly. Plus, you have to stake the fly properly. In any case, one person can do the job easily in just a few minutes.
A few details of the frame are shown in the pictures below. There are three hub elements on the roof, and the tent is attached to the frame through clips. The frame and the inner tent are one piece, and that is what makes it so user-friendly.
Because of all these features, I have included it in my list of best instant camping tents.
The tent is a two-room structure, there is a removable divider included in the package. The picture below shows how impressive it looks without the divider in place, with doors and windows on all its sides:
I would describe it as moderately tall, you have 72 inches (183 cm) peak height here, see the picture below.
True two-layer tent
Cabin type tents are not so frequently two-layer type, but here you have such a design. The inner tent you have seen in the picture above. But the tent also has a massive full-coverage fly.
The fly is nicely designed, and from the pictures below you realize that it allows for a variety of configuration dependent on weather conditions and your needs.
The doors and windows
This tent has two doors on its opposite longer sides, and there are four separate windows. So each of the two rooms has its own door and windows.
The doors are fully double-layer, with full-sized zippered mesh and with zippered panels. The windows are also double layer with fixed mesh and zippered panels.
Both doors are matched with the corresponding zippered panels on the shell (fly). From the picture below you can see how the doors’ flaps can be rolled up and kept out of way when you do not need them.
The two windows on the narrow sides are with storm flaps equipped with additional ropes. This means that you can keep the flaps open even when it rains.
You can also roll these side flaps up and fix under the roof when you want to have views around, see the picture. Observe that even these fly windows are double layer, there is mesh here as well.
As you realize, this all is a very luxurious design, such a combination of features is not so frequent in cabin type tents.
Awnings
You have already seen in the pictures that the tent allows for various different awning configurations. Note that three poles for this purpose are included in the package.
This adds to the overall luxury which you have with this tent. You can create awnings on both sides of the tent and have a shade for sitting outside. Below you see how pleasant this may be.
Lighted tent
The tent comes with built-in lights that are attached to the roof frame. This is powered with USB, but you will not have the power bank included. I have included it in my list of lighted tents.
Materials
The tent comes with the following elements in the package:
- 1 × Rainfly.
- 1 × Instant tent.
- 1 × Room curtain.
- 3 × Vestibule poles.
- 31 × Tent stakes.
- 13× Wind ropes.
- 1 × Storage bag.
All are shown in the picture:
The frame: The frame is made of iron, and my understanding is that the awning poles are of the same material. These are all thick and very strong tubes.
The fabric: There is a mess here. They are very careless with their specifications; namely on their site you can see numbers that are different from those on Amazon.
But it appears that the shell is a durable 210D silver coated Oxford polyester. Its waterproof rating is 3000 mm, and they claim it is with UPF50+.
The underside of the shell is with a silver coating and they claim it resists UV-A/UV-B and blocks 90% of harmful sunlight.
They write that the inner tent is of the same material and with the same waterproof rating, but this is surely not correct, the fabric here is a breathable taffeta.
The floor is even more durable 300D oxford cloth with all the corners seam taped. Its waterproof rating is supposed to be 4000 mm (number on Amazon), or 3000 mm (number on their site).
Other details
There are a few small wall pouches to keep your things off the ground. Lantern hooks are also available, see the pictures below.
Ventilation
This tent has almost optimal ventilation. You have already seen its huge mesh openings (doors and windows). The ceiling also includes large mesh areas.
In addition to this, they have added two large low vents, they are on the narrow sides of the tent, under the windows. These vents are matched with flaps on the fly equipped with guylines so that you can pull the fly away and increase air circulation.
I mentioned the storm flaps that can be kept open all the time. But if you have to close them together with other flaps, you would want to have roof vents. They are missing, pity.

Who is the Naturehike Village 13 Instant Tent for
Regarding the area, they describe it as a maximum 8-person tent. The area which they published on their site and on Amazon, links below, is clearly wrong.
The actual area is around 10.7 m² (114 ft²), it follows from the floor plan and the numbers below.
As you see, this is far too small for 8 people, but in principle you could squeeze 8 sleeping pads on the floor. For realistic camping situations, this tent is best suited for up to 4 people.
The fly creates two tiny vestibules on the narrow sides, each offering around 0.54 square meters (5.8 ft²) of covered space. This can be useful only for your boots and shoes.
Regarding seasons & climate, they describe it as a tent for all seasons, and this could be correct. The tent’s frame is strong, and the fly with its high waterproof rating protects it completely.
It is a bit boxy for windy places, but you have plenty of stakes and guylines to secure it to the ground. Ventilation will work great in any climate.
The tent shell is fully closable, and this holds also for the sides of the inner tent. But note that the inner tent’s ceiling is with mesh only so it is not closable, though you have the fly above.
They provide information about various testing performed with this tent, this includes both weather testing and material lab testing:
Regarding the weight, with 48.5 lb (22 kg), this tent is quite heavy. But observe its massive fly and the overall size, plus the strong frame.
The packed size is also not its best feature, it is long when packed, this is due to its instant-setup design, a typical issue with such tents. But the carry bag is well-designed, with carry straps and with the loops on the side, see the picture.
Regarding the price, I would say it is fair for such a great tent. You have links below so compare the sellers and their shipping conditions.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
In summary, the Naturehike Village 13 Instant Tent is a versatile and well-designed shelter that combines convenience, durability, and thoughtful features for an excellent camping experience.
Its cabin-style structure, instant setup, and two-layer design make it a standout choice for those seeking ease of use and full-weather protection.
The tent’s integrated LED lighting, multiple awning options, and excellent ventilation add a touch of luxury and functionality, making it suitable for various climates and camping styles.
While its advertised capacity may be overly optimistic, the tent is best suited for smaller groups of up to four people who value comfort and spaciousness.
The lack of roof vents and its bulky packed size are minor drawbacks, but these are offset by the overall quality and performance. If you’re in the market for a robust, feature-rich instant tent, the Naturehike Village 13 Instant Tent is a great option to consider.
Below you can see how this tent stands against my standard rating criteria that I apply consistently to all of them here in the site so that you can easily compare:
