Overview
This Ozark Trail 10-Person Appalachian Tent is an excellent example of a cabin type framed tent. Sometimes, tents of this type are called wall tents.
The frame is freestanding and it is from outside, and the tent attaches to it as you realize from the photo below. This means there is no separate fly, the tent is a single layer construction.

It is very tall, with a stand-up height everywhere, so it is very suitable for tall people. The peak height is 84 inches (213 cm).
How many roooms?
There is only one floored room, but the access to it is through a beautiful floorless room that they describe as a screen porch but it is more than that.
Namely, all the mesh openings are paired with zippered flaps, so this space is fully protected from the rain and from flying insects. Here, you can use your camping chairs without concern about the floor.
Windows and doors
The tent has four windows with storm flaps (or gussets as they call them), see the photo below. This is a great design as you can keep them with mesh even when it rains. But they also have inner zippered flaps to close if you feel cold.

There are also two separate huge double layer windows on the sides of the screen room/porch.
The double-wide door is with an inverted-T central zipper. It is double layer, so here too you have two huge windows. This makes 8 external windows in total.
There are two D-shaped inner doors under the porch, and they are double layer in the upper part, so you have two extra windows here as well.
All these openings can be closed if you feel cold.
Built-in stove jack
Built-in stove jack adjusts for pipes from 4 to 6 inches, fitting most common hot stoves. There are three of them in the package, so you use the one that suits your pipe.
The photos below show how this looks. When the stove is not in use, all can be closed:
The tent comes with a mat to use under your stove and to protect the floor. In view of all these features, I have included it in my list of best tents with a stove jack.
Materials
The poles: They use very thick and strong steel poles for this tent. There are reinforced hub elements for poles connection, with buttons that click when poles attach to each other. All is color coded for an easy setup.
The fabric: The fabric is a durable polyester with a 1200 mm PU coating. All seams are sealed, and from what I can see around, users describe the tent as fully waterproof. The stitching is strong, and it looks really properly done.
The floor is a bath-tub style and it is made of a much thicker material, but there is no info about it provided by the brand.
Other details:
- There are several lantern hooks under the roof.
- They have added 6 small wall pockets, but there is plenty of space for many more, pity they did not add them.
- E-cable port is in place.
Ventilation
The tent has many double layer windows to generate cross flows of air in all directions. The four windows with storm flaps can be open with mesh even when it rains. There are three large floor vents to get air circulation from the ground.

But surprisingly, there are no roof vents. For a single-layer tent of this type they would make lots of difference to reduce condensation and to make it more livable. The inner windows under the porch may compensate a bit for this.
Setup
This is a large tent and with an external frame. There are many poles in the package, so this all needs some work. The roof alone has 11 separate shock-corded poles, and there are 8 leg poles as well. Plan at least half an hour for the job.

Who is the Ozark Trail 10-Person Appalachian Tent for
Regarding the area and best use, they determine the capacity by the number of sleeping pads that can fit on the floor, and that is more than 10. But the actual floored area is 140 ft² (13 m²). This is why the official capacity is unrealistic although the front room offers lots of space for storage of gear.
The tent is ideal for family camping and for hunting and backcountry expeditions. But if you plan to change your camp spot frequently, better check some other options.
Regarding seasons & climate, you have already seen its floor vents that can accommodate AC devices. With this, you can use the tent even in very hot places. But even without cooling, there is plenty of options for air circulation.
The design with mutiple diamaters for a pipe jack allows for a variety of wood burning stoves. This makes the tent suitable for very cold environment. I have added it to my list of tents for cold weather camping, but it is far more than that, a true 4-season tent.
Regarding the weight, the tent is very heavy, but you have seen its incredibly strong frame, so the weight is justified.
The packed size is what you would expect for such a large framed tent. Make sure you have place in the car trunk. The carry bag is with wheels, see the photo below.

On the opposite side you have a grab handle, so in spite of the weight, it should not be a problem to move this tent shorter distances in the camp.

Regarding the price, I think it is fair for such a great and versatile tent. Please check the link for updates.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
In summary, the Ozark Trail 10-Person Appalachian Tent 4 Season with Stove Outlet stands out as a robust, versatile option for family camping, hunting, or backcountry expeditions.
Its freestanding frame, durable polyester with sealed seams, and built-in stove jack make it suitable for year-round use in diverse climates, from scorching heat with A/C compatibility to cold weather with wood stove integration.
The tall design, ample windows, and screened porch provide comfort and functionality, though the absence of roof vents is a minor drawback for condensation control.
Despite its heavy weight and large packed size, the wheeled carry bag ensures manageable transport for such a spacious tent.
The 140 ft² floored area, while officially rated for 10 people, is better suited for smaller groups with gear, and the 40 ft² porch adds valuable storage or relaxation space.
Setup requires effort due to the external frame and numerous poles, but the color-coded system simplifies the process. With a 6-month warranty and strong user feedback on waterproofing, this tent is a solid choice for campers prioritizing durability and versatility over portability. It is added to my list of 10 person tents.

FAQ
Can the Ozark Trail 10-Person Appalachian Tent withstand extreme weather conditions?
This tent is designed for four-season use, with a durable polyester fabric featuring a 1200 mm PU coating and sealed seams for excellent waterproofing. Users report it holds up well in heavy rain and moderate snow, especially when paired with a wood stove via the built-in stove jack.
However, in extreme winds or heavy snow accumulation, proper guying and anchoring are crucial due to its tall, cabin-style frame. Always ensure the tent is securely staked and consider adding extra guy lines for stability in severe conditions.
How easy is it to transport and store this tent?
Weighing 78.5 lb (35.6 kg) and with a packed size of 24.8 x 16.5 x 14.2 inches, the tent is bulky and best suited for car camping rather than backpacking. The included wheeled carry bag and grab handle make it manageable for short distances, such as from your vehicle to the campsite.
For storage, ensure the tent is fully dry before packing to prevent mold, and store it in a cool, dry place to maintain the fabric’s integrity.
Is the tent suitable for solo setup, or does it require multiple people?
While the tent can technically be set up by one person, its external frame and numerous poles (11 roof poles and 8 leg poles) make the process easier with two or more people.
The color-coded poles and reinforced hubs simplify assembly, but the setup can take around 30–45 minutes for a solo camper. Having an extra pair of hands speeds up the process and ensures proper alignment of the frame.
What types of stoves are compatible with the tent’s stove jack?
The stove jack is adjustable for pipes ranging from 4 to 6 inches in diameter, accommodating most standard wood-burning camping stoves.
Popular models like the Winnerwell Nomad or Camp Chef Alpine stoves are compatible, as long as the pipe diameter fits within the specified range. Always use the included stove mat to protect the floor and ensure proper ventilation to avoid carbon monoxide buildup when using a stove.
