This Eureka! NoBugZone Screened Canopy Shelter implies two different products, and one of them can be used in several ways, as a mesh canopy with a frame, a frame with a fly, and all three together.
Key features & benefits
- Two different products.
- Two asymmetric doors.
- Very tall.
So what this Eureka NoBugZone Screened Canopy Shelter is about
This is a cabin-style tall freestanding structure with steep and tall walls. The peak height is impressive 7 ft 8 in (234 cm) and you have a standing height everywhere.
There are two huge doors on the opposite sides and they are with different zippers. One has zippers on the sides so you can roll the door up and fix under the roof as the picture below shows, and the other is with a central zipper.
Two products
This is a new item on the market and they have two different products here:
- Eureka NoBugZone Screenhouse (the picture below left).
- Eureka NoBugZone Screened Canopy Shelter 3-in-1 System (the picture below right, shown without the fly).
In both cases you have a frame and a mesh canopy, but the difference is that the roof in the product 1 (the Eureka NoBugZone Screenhouse) is a reasonably waterproof taffeta (see the picture above), while the roof in the product 2 is a mesh.
This is not all, the product 2 (the Eureka NoBugZone Screened Canopy Shelter 3-in-1 System) has a fly of the same material as the roof of the product 1. The top picture above shows it with the fly on.
3-in-1 Meaning
So the meaning of the phrase 3-in-1 is related to the product 2 is as follows:
- You have a freestanding frame that can be used as a support for the fly alone that comes above it, to create a pleasant shade.
- This same frame can be used with the canopy alone attached to it from below, so you have the usual screen house.
- All three elements can be used together so you have a decent (better to say partial) rain protection, and full protection from flying insects. The pictures below shows these three options related to the product 2.
So there are differences in some of the features between the two products. Because of the difference of the roof and the presence of the fly in the product 2, there is a difference in the weight and packed size:
- Screenhouse: weight 16 pounds 9 ounces; packed size (L x D) 31 x 9 in.
- 3-in-1 System: weight 18 pounds 8 ounces; packed size (L x D) 31 x 11 in.
The functionality is almost the same. When I say almost I mean that both products provide shelter from flying insects, they provide a shed, and they provide partial protection from the rain. But the fly in the product 2 gives a bit more rain protection.
Note that the frame is exactly the same, and the same holds for the side mesh walls and doors, there are no differences here. The extra fly adds also to the price, you will realize this in the links given here, so the product 2 is more expensive. They sell both products at the same place on Amazon.
Who is it for
Regarding the area, you have 108 ft² (10 m²). So you have enough space for 4 people and perhaps even more, dependent on the size of the chairs and tables you have. The floor dimensions are 12 x 9 ft (366 x 274 cm), and the picture below shows how this looks with people inside:
Regarding the weight & packed size, with its 18 lb 8 oz (8.39 kg) this is not something to carry long distances, but it is indeed portable. The packed size is not so bad (L x D) 31 x 11 inches (79 x 28 cm), so all in all, this is clearly for places with a car access. I really like the carry bag, everything fits inside nicely, see how it looks with the setup instructions included:
Regarding functionality & features, being freestanding, you can use this shelter anywhere. But you have everything included to stake it down properly. The option with the separate fly gives a bit more versatility but it is much more expensive.
The area can be used for camp cooking and also as a living room. You have a waterproof roof so the items kept closer to the center will be more or less protected from the rain. But they sell some accessory elements (wall panels, and floor) for additional protection and for privacy.
Materials
The frame is all steel, very strong and durable with 19 mm diameter tubes, with shock-corded elements, so there is not much to guess. There are also 9 plastic stakes (9 inches long) and 8 steel skewer stakes (7 inches long) included in the package.
The roof and the fly have the same 800 mm waterproof rating. This is not much but it should be perfectly enough. The fabric is 68D 185T polyester taffeta. The mesh is no-see-um type 4oD polyester material.
Accessories
They have a separate floor and separate wall panels, see the picture.
Videos
Here is a video presented the product 2, the Eureka NoBugZone Screened Canopy Shelter 3-in-1 System:
Here is a short video about the Product 1 (the Screenhouse):
Exactly the same procedure applies to the product 1, except that there is no fly to add separately. But you can have this pdf file with the setup instructions, have a look.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
In the summary of this Eureka NoBugZone Screened Canopy Shelter 3-in-1 review, I wish to stress that I am really impressed with this design. No matter which of the two products you choose, you will have a great camping item next to your camping tent.
You have already seen about the meaning of the phrase 3-in-1, but I would add that it can be understood also in the following way: i) insects protection, ii) sunshade, iii) rain shelter. This is a nice product, fully recommended. I have added it to my list of best screen houses for camping.
Please see how I rate this screen house against my standard set of criteria so you can easily compare with other items of this type here in the site:
