Overview
This Berghaus Telstar 8 Nightfall Air Tent is an impressive tunnel shaped structure with a modular design that includes 3 inner tents within the shell tent. The floor plan below reveals its inner structure. So you have 5 rooms plus a large porch which is on the left side in the picture. The yellow areas are the doors.
Note that the porch is fully closable, so it looks just like a room, the only difference is that it is with a removable floor. So you can describe this tent also as a 6-room tent.
The inner tents are with different sizes, one has a removable divider, and one is completely separated in the living room are, see below how it looks. There is a hanging rail inside so you can use it for storage or as a bedroom. But you can also remove it. Observe the color of its fabric.
With so many inner tents you can organize the area as you wish. So if you do not need so many bedrooms, you can always remove some of the inner tents and have a much larger living area. You can remove all the inner tents and have a huge single-room shell for family events in the garden.
The tent is also very tall as you see from the picture below, you have a stand-up height almost everywhere. The inner peak height is 206 cm.
There are no solid poles here, the tent is supported by 5 air beams. Even the small brim above its side door is an air beam. This is why it is in my list of best inflatable tents.
There are several doors around, you can see their position in the floor plan shown above. The door on the porch is double wide, so you have more than 3 meters width there. The inner door under the porch and the two side doors are all with mesh and with solid panels. Solid windows are everywhere and you can see them in the picture below.
Materials
The fabric: The flysheet material is a strong 150D polyester Oxford, and they claim it is with a 6000 mm waterproof rating. This is among the highest you can find. The floor is sewn-in and sealed.
The inner tent material is a 310T polyester, and this sounds incredible. The fabric is dark and so the tent can be described as a dark-rest construction. They call this Nightfall design. This allows you to sleep longer in the morning, and if you camp with small kids they can take a nap during the day.
Ventilation
I already mentioned the three large doors with their full-size zippered mesh. In particular the door under the porch is important because you can keep it with mesh all the time, it is fully protected. The inner doors are also with mesh sections.
But they have added several vents on the sides so you should have enough cross flow even if you keep the doors closed.
Other features
- Air pump and pegs are included.
- The carry bag is wheeled.
- There are two cable access points.
Who is it for
Regarding the area, it is officially for 8 people. For this you have the inner floored area of 273.4 ft² (25.4 m²), plus 101.2 ft² (9.4 m²) under the porch. So these are simply incredible numbers. You will not find many tents on the market that can match this.
Because the living room is fully sealed, if necessary, this tent can easily accommodate 12 people in its floored area, and you still have the porch with its linked-in floor. Because of all these numbers, I have included it in my list of extra large family camping tents.
Regarding seasons & climate, this is a luxurious family camping tent. Its waterproof rating is impressive and you will have full rain protection.
It is completely enclosed with its solid windows, so it can be used even in a cold environment. Its air beams can never brake and it will perform well in windy conditions.
So, although it looks like a luxurious summer camping tent, I do not see any reason why it couldn’t be used year round in any weather conditions. But its flat roof and air beams are definitely not for snow conditions.
Regarding the weight, this tent is very heavy with its 114.4 lb (51.9 kg). But see its enormous size and you will realize that this weight is justified.
The same situation is with its packed size 35.4 x 26.4 x 26 inches (90 x 67 x 66 cm), the tent is indeed bulky. The bag is with wheels to move it short distances, but this is a car camping tent.
Regarding the price, this is a great tent but if you are on a budget, better check something else.

Final thoughts, rating, pros & cons
So this Berghaus Telstar 8 Nightfall Air Tent is one of the largest on the market and it is hard to find yet another that would match its number of rooms. It is fully closable and with solid windows, with many venting options, tall and incredibly pleasant. I have included it in my list of tents with 5 rooms, but you have them 6 in total.
Below you can see how this tent stands against my standard rating criteria that I apply consistently to all the tents here in the site so that you can easily compare:
