Vango AirBeam Lismore Air 600XL Tent

Last Modified: 02/01/2025

The Vango AirBeam Lismore Air 600XL Tent is a true camping castle supported with air beams, with 3 dark rest sleeping rooms, one huge living room, and a closable porch.

Key features & benefits

  • Tunnel type tent.
  • Air beams.
  • Easy to pitch.
  • Solid windows.
  • Fully closable porch.
  • Stand up height.
  • Great ventilation.
  • Cable ports.
  • 2 Doors.
  • 8 Windows.
  • 4 Rooms plus porch.

Overview

This tent is a tunnel-type but it is supported with 5 air beams instead of classic poles. This makes it very easy to use and its official setup time is only 12 minutes. In spite of its huge size, one person can do this easily.

Note that each air beam has its separate valve, so you inflate them one by one. The beams are pre-bent, and the side walls are almost straight as you see from the pictures.

The peak height is 82.7 inches (210 cm), and you have a stand-up height in most of the tent. Because of these features, I have included it in my list of best inflatable tents for camping.

Rooms

This tent is a true camping castle with its 4 separate rooms and a large porch. The floor plan and the dimensions in the picture below show what you have.

The structure includes an inner tent with two dividers, so this is a sleeping area with three separate sleeping rooms shown below. You can remove the dividers and organize that space as you wish.

The rest of the tent is a huge living room shown in the picture below. Note that the whole inner is with a sewn-in and sealed floor. But the inner tent also has its own floor, so in the sleeping area you have two layers underneath you.

This is not all. The floor plan shown previously reveals that you also have a large porch with around 7 square meters, see it below. This is a floorless area where you can keep your camping furniture without worrying about the floor. You can keep it open as the picture below shows, but you can also fully close it when the rain comes.

Because of all these features, I have included it in my list of tents with 4 rooms, but it is more than that, you could describe it also as a 5-room tent.

Doors & windows

The main entry point is through the porch. Note that the porch has a fully closable double door with translucent solid windows. From this space you have an inner door which is with a mesh and a panel, so this is one way of getting into the living area.

But there is also one side door which is double layer with zippered mesh and zippered panel. So this is two external doors in total.

As for windows, you have 5 separate solid windows on the living room, plus two solid windows on the front door. The side door is with mesh as well so you can use it as an extra window when the sky is clear.

There are two separate inner windows underneath the porch, plus the mentioned mesh door. All solid windows are with inner shutters for privacy, and you can raise them half way up or close completely for full privacy.

The fabric

This tent is built from their Sentinel fabric described in my separate text, and some of its features are summarized in the picture:

It is with fully taped seams that provide a watertight seal. The waterproof rating is 3000 mm.

The bedrooms are made of a dark fabric so this is what they describe as a Nightfall Bedrooms design. It reduces early morning light so your sleeping pattern doesn’t need to be dictated by the sunrise. So it is a sort of a dark rest tent.

The fabric is with what they call the Color Lock design and its features are given in the picture:

Other details

  • The tent comes with Vango’s TBS II Tension Band System. So when tensioned, the bands brace the air beams at 3 points, this reduces sideways movement in stronger winds and stabilizes the tent.
  • AirSpeed Valve inflates and deflate your tent effortlessly in minutes.
  • Drop Down Door Step design to effortlessly enter and exit your tent.
  • Bedroom pockets are conveniently positioned for storing your essentials.
  • Easy Pack Carry Bag is oversized.
  • Clear Access Bedrooms design means a wider opening and no step over into the bedrooms.
  • Villa Construction – this means steep side walls that increase the height and volume within the tent.
  • Supplied with an AirBeam pump and groundsheet protector.
  • Lantern Hanging Points are conveniently positioned to attach your lighting.

Some of the most important features are summarized in the picture:

Ventilation

The tent has all ventilation elements that you need. This includes a few floor vents, plus a large rear vent. The inner tent is a breathable taffeta and it has some mesh areas for ventilation as well.

You have already seen about the large mesh doors, plus those mesh inner windows under the porch. Those can be kept with mesh only all the time, they are fully protected under the porch. So there is practically nothing to object to this design.

Please see a bit more in this short video:

Who is it for

Regarding the area, it is very impressive. You have 204.5 ft² (19 m²) total inner floored area. This means 34 ft² (3.16 m²) per person. The porch adds 75.3 ft² (7 m²). This is more than enough for 6 people which is the official capacity of this tent.

If needed, there is place for 6 more people in the living room with a full protection from insects and elements. So this is a large structure and I have included it in my list of extra large family camping tents.

Regarding seasons & climate, I am sure that this tent can be used year round. Its waterproof rating is excellent, it is fully closable (see the picture below) and with those solid windows. Its ventilation is also exceptionally good.

It is tall and boxy, but those air beams will never break. The TBS II system stabilizes the tent in windy conditions. The only thing to avoid would be snow, such beams are not designed for heavy vertical pressure.

Regarding the weight, this is a heavy tent with its 64 lb (29 kg). But note that you have 26 square meters here, and the tent is very tall and with solid windows. So this weight is justified.

The packed size is also substantial, see the numbers below. So you need some space in the car.

Regarding the price, I would say it is steep, but this is a huge and quality shelter from a renown brand. So it is not really for people on a tight budget.

My first tent was the one I used with my wife when we went on our honeymoon. In fact, you can see it in About page here in the site. Read More…
