A full fly is typically associated with dome tents, but here you have my selection of excellent cabin type tents with a full fly for a complete protection in rain conditions.

1. Snow Peak Living Lodge M
This tent offers a huge covered area with no less than 239 ft² (22.1 m²), and you can realize how this looks from the picture above. But most of it is its fully protected porch, while the inner tent is relatively small with its floored area of around 76 ft² (7 m²). For this reason, its official capacity is only 3-5 people.
From the picture you realize this is a cabin-style structure, and this is why it is here. With its full coverage fly supported by aluminum poles you have full protection in any weather. So this tent is suitable for year round use.
Note that its peak height is impressive 7.9 ft (241 cm), and this is why I have included in my list of very tall camping tents. It comes with a footprint included. Bear in mind it is heavy, the weight is 52.9 lb (24 kg).
2. Snow Peak Alpha Breeze Tent
As usual with the Snow Peak brand, this tent is completely unique. But its two sides are with almost vertical walls and it is closest to a cabin type tent, this is why it is here.
The tent is a true double-layer structure. So you have a full taffeta inner tent, plus a massive fly that creates two asymmetric vestibules.
You have four doors, and all of them are double layer with a mesh and with a panel. But there are also vents on the inner tent and on the fly, plus some extra venting features. So its ventilation is excellent. I have tested it recently in the mountains, and the picture above is from a camping place where I stayed.
It offers around 77.17 ft² (7.17 m²) of the inner floored area, but the two vestibules add around 33 ft² (2.7 + 0.4 m²). With all this, it is officially for four users.
The fabric is with a high waterproof rating. It is supported with thick and strong duralumin poles. So you have a full protection from the elements in all seasons. I have tested it myself and I am sure about this. The peak height is 73 inches (185 cm).
3. Cabela’s Big Country 6-Person Cabin Tent
You may not realize from the picture, but this is a is very tall tent with an incredible 84 inches (213 cm) peak height. With the fly on, it may look like a dome tent, but the leg poles are straight so this is a cabin type tent.
It is nicely ventilated, and it is supported with thick aluminum poles. The fly is a full coverage type and it is with a great waterproof rating so you have full protection in a 3-season camping.
Note that the tent is a bit heavy, it weighs 34 lb (15.4 kg), and its floored area is 90 ft² (8.3 m²). It has one door and one vestibule.
4. KAZOO Family Camping Tent Saturn
The dimensions of this tent are very balanced and with good proportions, so it looks strong and stable under its full fly. This KAZOO Family Camping Tent is a cabin-style tent with straight leg poles.
You will want to know that this is also an instant tent and it is fully freestanding. So it is very easy to use and you can set it up practically everywhere.
The waterproof rating of its fly is very high, and the tent is supported with aluminum poles for full protection in a 3-season use.
There are 2 unusual fly windows, one visible in the picture, 2 huge doors, and the tent is quite tall. The weight is 17.85 lb (8.1 kg) and the area is 90.3 ft² (8.4 m²). In view of this, it can accommodate up to 6 people and I have added it also to my list of best 6 person tents.
5. Core 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Full Rainfly
Here you have an instant setup tent from their new series. So it is easy to use, as expected from such a design. But the tent is interesting also because of its full coverage fly that offers complete rain protection. The leg poles are straight but a bit angled as you realize from the picture.
The fly is designed so that you can roll it up as shown in the picture, so you can have views around when it is not raining. The tent is also fully freestanding, and it is supported with a strong steel frame.
The tent has 3 separate windows, plus one on its door. Here are a few numbers; the weight is 23 lb (10.4 kg), and its floor area is 99 ft² (9.18 m²).
6. Naturehike Village 13 Instant Tent
The Naturehike Village 13 Instant Tent stands out as a top choice for those seeking the best cabin tents with a full-coverage fly. Designed for durability and versatility, this tent combines the spaciousness of a cabin-style structure with the superior weather protection of a full-coverage fly.
The tent features a generous interior space of 114 ft² (10.7 m²), making it suitable for up to four campers who value comfort.
Its two-room layout, complete with a removable divider, offers flexibility for sleeping arrangements or storage.
The tent’s full-coverage rainfly, constructed from 210D silver-coated Oxford polyester, provides excellent waterproofing (3000 mm rating) and UV protection, ensuring a safe and dry camping experience in any season.
Additional features like the pre-attached frame for quick setup, two large double-layered doors, and multiple mesh windows enhance usability and ventilation. The floor, made from 300D Oxford cloth with a 4000 mm waterproof rating, is designed to withstand rugged use and heavy rain.
With its steel frame, awning configurations, and storm flaps, the Naturehike Village 13 offers the reliability needed for camping in challenging conditions. This combination of robust construction and thoughtful design makes it a standout option for adventurers seeking a cabin tent with complete protection..
7. Coleman Octagon 98 Full Fly Tent
Here you have a unique cabin-style tent with a hexagonal base, steep walls, and a full fly. One of its interesting features is visible in the picture, and this is the hinged door on the front.
The inner tent is mainly a mesh in the upper part. The fly is with 6 vertical zippers that you can open and create panoramic views. It comes with a removable divider inside, so formally this is a 2-room tent.
The official capacity is 8 people, but the floor area is only 122 ft² (11.3 m²), so better downgrade the capacity by half if you use it for family camping.
The tent is really livable and pleasant, and you realize that it offers full protection from elements. The rating by users on Amazon is exceptionally high, and with all the good reasons.
8. Core 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Full Rainfly
Here you have yet another tent from Core’s new series with a full coverage fly. It is also cabin type, so it deserves to be here in the list.
The base structure and size is similar to some of their other tents, but here they have added a full fly that also offers a relatively small vestibule. The tent has two doors and two rooms, and there are also several large windows.
It is supported with a strong steel frame that is pre-attached to the tent, so this all is easy to use because of its telescopic poles. You only add the fly separately. The official setup time is 2 minutes only.
The tent weighs 36 lb (16.3 kg), its official capacity is 9 people, and you have an inner area of 126 ft² (11.7 m²).
9. CORE Large Multi Room Tent for Family with Full Rainfly 10 Person
The words Multi Room in the official name of this tent describe the fact that there is a divider so you can have two rooms. The tent has multiple large windows with mesh and zippered panels. The fly has zippered flaps that you can roll up when the sky is clear.
The shape is of a cabin type shelter, and its full coverage fly is the reason for having it here in the list. So you have a full protection from the elements, and I would describe it as a true 3-season tent.
Note that it is heavy with its 41 lb (18.6 kg), and it offers 140 ft² (13 m²) of the floored area, plus 12 ft² (1.1 m²) under the vestibule which you see in the picture. The tent is also very tall, the peak height here is 86 inches (218 cm).
Final thoughts
So this was my selection of cabin type tents with a full rain fly. The list will be updated whenever I find a tent that deserves to be included here, so bookmark this post and check occasionally.
Now, how to choose? As you realize from the list, there are several tents here that are instant type, so if you change your camping place frequently, this should be your choice.
There are also big differences in the official capacity, but it is best to ignore this. Instead, check the actual features of the tents. You have some tents that offer lots of space for storage of the gear, like vestibules and even a porch. But in general, always downgrade the official capacity by half or so, it is unrealistic for real camping.
The tents presented here are with a full fly, but still many of them offer windows that you can use when the sky is clear. This is due to their clever designs that include panels that can be unzipped and rolled up, or due to vertical zippers on the fly that you unzip and move to the sides.
