Core Instant Tents for Camping

If you change the camping place frequently or simply want a tent with an easy setup, then this list with Core instant tents is for you. Keep reading.

Core Equipment is a brand known for its large family camping tents and many of them are instant-type by the design. If you are not familiar with this terminology, this means that the frame is pre-attached to the frame and you simply unfold the tent and extend its poles. Normally, one person can easily set such a tent up in just a couple of minutes or even faster, and this holds even for the largest 12-person tents.

1. CORE Instant Cabin Tent 6 Person

Here you have a tent from their new series, easy to use and freestanding, most suitable for summer camping, and built in the cabin style. As expected from an instant tent, it is with a pre-attached frame, so only the fly is a separate part.

There are two separate windows, plus two windows on the door. All of them are with mesh and with zippered panels.

In view of such great windows and a mesh ceiling, the tent offers lots of ventilation. But note that you also have a floor vent.

The most interesting detail is that overhanging fly that is supported with extended eaves. It partly protects the door and the windows.

Here are a few numbers. The tent weighs 25 lb (11.3 kg), and its floor area is 90 ft² (8.3 m²). The peak height is 72 inches (183 cm).

2. Core 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Full Rainfly

This is an instant setup tent from their new series. So it is easy to use as expected from such a design. But it is interesting also because of its full coverage fly that offers complete rain protection. Cabin type tents with such a fly are not so frequent on the market.

The fly is designed so that you can roll it up as in the picture and have views around when it is not raining. The tent is fully freestanding and supported with a strong steel frame.

You have 3 separate windows plus one on its door. Here are a few numbers. The tent weighs 23 lb (10.4 kg) and its floor area is 99 ft² (9.18 m²).

3. Core Instant Cabin Tent 6 

This tent comes with some great features and an interesting design. It has a removable partial coverage rain fly, and its ceiling is all mesh, so ventilation is great in this tent. The huge windows visible in the picture make it a very livable structure. It is freestanding so you can move it around and rotate even when the fly is on.

You have a lantern hook on the highest point, and a gear loft is also included. There is a huge wall organizer and an electricity port. The weight is 22.8 lb (10.34 kg) and the floor area is 99 sq ft (9.2 m²). You will want to know that this is a very affordable tent.

4. Core Lighted 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent

This tent includes two great features that you can have in Core’s tents, it is with an instant setup (and this is why it is here in the list), and it is with integrated lights. So its official setup time is 60 seconds. The light system is built into the ceiling poles of the tent, and they have added Core’s unique diffusing fabric panel that disperses light.

Apart from this, you have large windows with mesh and zippered panels, and the tent is nicely ventilated with two floor vents. You also have an e-cable port. It weighs 14.5 lb (6.6 kg), and the area is 99 ft² (9.18 m²).

5. CORE 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Awning

So this CORE 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Awning is very similar to the previous tent but there are also some important differences. As you realize from the picture, you have a huge double door here.

This is again a pleasant freestanding tent suitable for summer camping, with an incredibly easy and fast setup and a great price tag. The poles are steel, a gear loft is included, and you have a wall organizer. The tent weighs 24.5 lb (11.1 kg) and the area is 99 ft² (9.2 m²).

6. Core 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent 14 x 9

This large tent you can pitch under a minute, and one person can easily do this. The tent very pleasant and livable with all those mesh windows. The ceiling is also mesh so you will not have problems with air circulation and condensation should be minimal.

This is a summer camping two-room tent for families and groups. It is fully freestanding, with steel poles and an electricity port. The declared capacity is 9 people, and for this you have a floor area of 126 sq ft (11.7 m²). The tent weighs 35.15 lb (16.3 kg). Note that it is very affordable.

7. Core 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Full Rainfly

So this is yet another tent from their new series with a full coverage fly. It is also cabin type, and such tents are rare in general.

The structure is similar to some of their other tents, but they have added a full fly that also offers a relatively small vestibule. You have two doors and two rooms, and there are also several large windows.

The tent is supported with a strong steel frame that is pre-attached to the tent, so this all is easy to use because of its telescopic poles. You only add the fly separately. The official setup time is 2 minutes only.

Here are some numbers. The tent weighs 36 lb (16.3 kg), its official capacity is 9 people, and you have an inner area of 126 ft² (11.7 m²).

8. CORE Lighted 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent

This tent is a lighted version of the previous tent. The light system is integrated into its roof poles and you have three modes of operation that work on 4 batteries. You have high, medium, and nightlight levels with 950, 300, and 35 lumens, respectively.

This is again a freestanding tent with its 6 legs and the partial coverage fly which clips to the legs. So you can move it and rotate even when you set it up. The structure is with 2 rooms and the frame is steel. This is also a rather tall and livable tent with a peak height of 78 inches (198 cm). I see it most suitable for summer camping in quiet weather conditions. The weight is 40.3 lb (18.3 kg), and the area is 126 ft² (11.7 m²).

9. CORE 10 Person Instant Cabin Tent With Screen Room

This Core 10 tent is a really nicely designed structure for summer camping. It includes two rooms plus the screen room which you see in the picture. The tent is very pleasant and livable, with many large windows and two doors in the screen room. The screen room is not fully protected from the rain, but you have protection from insects.

It is in the list here because of its instant setup which is under 2 minutes. But the screen room has some extra poles that should be added separately, and this means you will need a few minutes more to make it ready. This is a large tent with 203 ft² (18.9 m²) of the total area and 140 ft² (13 m²) of the inner area.

10. CORE Instant Cabin Tent 10 Person Performance

This CORE Instant Cabin Tent 10 Person is the largest from their Performance series of nicely designed cabin style tents. It is here because this is an instant setup design, so it is naturally very easy to use.

As you realize from the picture it is pleasant with its numerous windows, and you have two doors and two rooms with a real divider between them. This is also a tent with a good ventilation. Its distinctive feature is that overhanging fly that partly protects the doors and windows. 

The weight is substantial, it weighs 41 lb (18.6 kg), but you realize this is similar to the other 10-person tents of this brand. The area is 140 ft² (13 m²) so it is not particularly large for 10 people. The height is very good, you heave 78 inches (198 cm) peak height here.

11. CORE Lighted 10 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Screen Room

This Core 10 person tent is again a lighted version of their existing tent shown previously. So you have a 3-room structure, with two floored inner rooms and the screen room in front of them. The screen room is with the fly but its sidewalls are without panels, so you have protection from flying insects and partial protection from the rain.

This is again an instant setup tent and the light system is the same as in their 9-person tent shown above. You have 4 large windows and two inner doors in the screen room. It comes also with an E-cable port.

The total covered area is 203 ft² (18.9 m²), but the inner floored (and fully protected) area is 140 ft² (13 m²). The weight is 47.8 lb (21.7 kg). This is for a car camping and for calm weather and without much rain and winds.

12. Core 12 Person Instant Cabin Tent 18 x 10

This is one of the largest tents of this brand, with 3 rooms, and incredibly easy setup. You have 180 ft² (16.7 m²) of the area, which is enough for the declared capacity of 12 people. In spite of its size, this tent’s setup is 2 minutes.

There are 2 huge doors with windows, they are on the opposite sides of the tent, one is visible in the picture. You also have 7 separate windows. The tent can accommodate 3 queen size beds. It has 2 large vents close to the floor. As usual for this brand, the tent is very affordable.

13. Core Lighted 12 Person Instant Cabin Tent

This is a lighter version of the previously shown 12-person tent, a huge 18 x 10 ft structure that offers the total floor area of 180 ft² (16.7 m²). It includes 3 rooms, 2 large doors plus 7 windows. This is also an instant tent with a steel frame. The light system is exactly the same design as in the other two Core tents presented above.

The tent is 80 inches tall and it is big enough to accommodate 3 queen size beds. This is a tent for summer camping in a quiet environment and without much rain.

14. CORE Two Room 12 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Side Entrance

So this is again an instant setup tent and one person can make it ready in under two minutes. The tent is fully freestanding with its steel poles and such poles make it heavy, it weighs 40 lb (18.1 kg). But this is a very strong and stable structure perfect for summer camping.

There is a side door mentioned in the name, and there is yet another door on its narrow side, both are visible in the picture. The tent is with 5 huge windows and those are all double-layer structures with mesh and panels.

The tent offers an area of 180 ft² (16.7 m²) and the declared capacity is 12 people, so it is included in my list of best 12-person tents. The peak height is 80 inches (203 cm). There is a divider inside so you have two rooms.

Final thoughts 

So this was the list with Core instant tents, and as you realize all these tents are with an express setup. There is almost no difference regarding the time needed for this. Note also that all the tents here are very tall. But there are a few other criteria to bear in mind.

Screen room

These are cabin tents without a storage area, and the screen room can compensate for this because it is partly covered and this means it offers some protection against the elements. But above all, this is a pleasant area for sitting and cooking in the shade without annoying insects.

Integrated light

This is a cool feature, good to have if the price is not much higher as compared with the tents without it. You have seen that those blue (lighted) tents are almost the same as the corresponding tents without the light.

Rain protection

Tents from this brand are known as reliable, and they offer a good rain protection. But you have more of it in a tent with a full coverage fly, some options of this type are available here.
